Bill Robinson Enterprise Manager

Bill has over 30 years experience working in the private sector within the commercial banking industry covering a wide variety of roles situated throughout the North East Region. In addition to a professional qualification ACIB (Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers) continuous development of his skills with formal internal courses took place throughout this period.  His responsibilities included:

All aspects of personal and corporate relationship management. Operational functions relating to internal audit, cost control, health and safety, data protection, premises, security and project management. Human resource management involving recruitment, training, appraisal of performance and career reviews in teams of staff ranging from 6 to 100+. Such work / life experience can be transferred in a very practical way to his role within S E S.

He joined an associated business in the Community/Voluntary Sector (CVS) in 2000 and moved to SES in 2002 where his present role is as a Manager of Enterprise Coaching and Business Start-up Services for potential individual entrepreneurs and social enterprises. Current responsibilities include:

 

  • Assistance with all aspects of Business Plan Preparation for potential new businesses
  • Co-ordinating the activities of a Team of Enterprise Talent Scouts employed within the Sunderland Enterprise Consortia currently engaged in pre start up support throughout the City
  • Managing a team of Business Advisors covering the area of the City to the West of the A19
  • Legal Structures relating to potential Social Enterprises
  • NVQ Assessment
  • Internal Controls relating to target monitoring and quality

Bill is currently a representative of the CVS on the Prosperous City Delivery Group of the Sunderland Partnership. He was involved in the development of and remains a volunteer director / trustee of a Credit Union, a Community Transport Business and an Advice and Guidance Social Enterprise all based within Sunderland.  From 1996 until 2004 he served as a Board Member of South Tyneside College.
